You're right about the small victories. I feel bad for Rockport, such a great fishing community. I know they'll rebuild!

Dad & family friend are heading down there tomorrow. Will hopefully get some pictures to share with everyone.

If you have anything you can drive your Jeep on top of for extra elevation do it. Like in sex, the extra inches may make all the difference.

Zip-lock anything important and get as much stuff as possible elevated.

Get the grill going and get as many frijoles as possible grilled up. It may be a while.

Good luck.

Army Corp of Engineers are possibly going to relieve some pressure from Barker reservoir.

Buffalo Bayou is the intended impact area.

Seems calm in Houston, LC, and Lafayette right now. How long can we expect this break to last before all hell breaks loose again?

Still gotta watch out for the backflow. You aren't anywhere near out of the woods yet, unfortunately

Oh I know exactly where in the woods I'm at. I'm just happy to get some buffer before the next rounds start.

We are all just living in this thing hour by hour. Sometimes minute by minute. It's not fun gathering your whole. Family in a closet several times a night wondering if your number will be drawn. I'm leaning on my faith in God and praying this thing breaks apart

Owl, I have family off of 288 and they're about to be in the same predicament.

Good luck. Prayers are with y'all tonight.

Where did the meteorologists go? What's the latest on the storm itself?

ETA prayers to all of you dealing with damage

That may not be the same type of issue in Houston as it was in BR.

The Houston "bayous" and the Amite River are totally separate animals. Back flow would be a bigger concern on the Brazos or San Jac.
