Looks like Houston is going to get a little break thank God.

That may be true, but I'm going by the capacity listed from Government owned property which I assume means either the government owns the land or bought a "flow easement" up to those capacities so that normal private property wouldn't be flooding. I think it's disingenuous to say they're full when they're both still well below the spillways coming into play.

Damn weather channel doing rescues on a giant flat bed. Pretty crazy shite.

We had 6 guys and were the only law enforcment assigned to the area. We mainly just rode around checking on people. A guy on a big front end loader flagged us down. Told us he stole it and cleared their road but left the tree on his moms driveway so nobody would go down it. Said he was on his way to bring it back. We just laughed and thanked him

I don't like how the tornado warnings are moving more and more east...

Several tornado warnings here in S Lafayette and youngsville. It's ugly out there.

Saying they are "full" is the wrong terminology, since there isn't a levee on the backside / west side of the structure (there is a levee on the south side along 1093).

I used to live near here. Basically all of George Bush park is in the res. There is no buffer space between the end of the "government property" i.e. the park and where residential areas start. If the water is leaving government property, it's headed into neighborhoods. Perhaps the government owns some kind of easement as you suggest. But homes were built in that easement if that's the case - and I'm guessing a number of them aren't aware of that fact.
