A lot of our Houston peeps are about to be very familiar with the gut wrenching feeling of seeing people in neighborhoods everywhere painstakingly tearing their houses down and putting debris on the street that will include their most expensive and prized belongings. It's one of the most depressing drives you will ever experience.
Broke down when I got home and thanked God I didn't flood. Bought flood insurance a week after the water went down.

Somebody gave me shite a few days back for not wondering why they were not issuing evacuation orders for the 9 million + pop metro area.

Our street is flooded in Breas Heights. My sister and BIL think they have water in their house in Bellaire but can't get back over there. Just hoping we don't lose power at this point.

Well??
Still can't happen. Evacuation orders for the entire metro area would have killed more people than the flood will.
There is no ideal way to handle this as a government.

I have a little water in part of my house in WU. House is closer to curb level than that picture. It's a little water though. When the heavy rains stop it goes out. Kids woke up on a bed island.
