The Weather Underground app is interesting although I am sure the estimates aren't as precise as many think.
But Friday: 0.66 inches of rain
Saturday: 4.94 inches (almost all of it from 9 to midnight)
Sunday: 1.23 inches already, 5.4 inches the next 8 hours, 4.3 inches until midnight--> basically 11 inches.
Monday: 3.4 inches by noon, 2.93 inches by midnight
Tuesday: 4 inches total
Wednesday: 3.4 inches
And I bet I am in one of the drier areas. I feel like a run like Monday-Wednesday (aka the easy days) would flood most parts of the city.
Unbelievable.

I'm not too far from you but my water level hasn't receded at all. Don't know if your post makes me hopeful or more worried.

I'm north of you in Deer Park. Its too dark to tell but I think my neighborhoods main concern is that the retention pond has overflowed and there's no exit for the water.

Having just gone through this a year ago with the flooding, my heart goes out to y'all!!! I can remember Andrew, Allison, Gustav, Katrina, Rita, and all the rest that hammered us over the years, but last years flood was the worst for us. It's one thing to have your house blown away, totally destroyed, then replaced, and an entirely different thing to have to strip it down to the studs, fight with insurance, contractors, do it yourself, and rebuild.
It is a long, slow, painful process that is a huge pain in the arse. Sending out prayers for all of you, and my family I have living over that way.

Just heard police chief say something to the effect that you can't tell which bayou is which anymore downtown.
