You're not crazy.

There's very little to steer the storm. So Harvey will probably just stop and meander aimlessly for a while.

just that the last advisory said it was moving at 2 MPH

right now it looks like there's no movement at all... not even 2 MPH

It was 2mph at the 10 and 1 advisories... I asked the question earlier, but didn't get a response, when is it supposed to start its reversal?

Carl Parker on TWC just called him "stalled" a few minutes ago.

Is the best guess that it starts a SE path like previously estimated?

Anyone have a price gouging story? Looks like Texas has great laws against it.

Generally south then southeast back toward Corpus, After that is when the models diverge.

Whatever direction it drifts will be very slowly.

One family member's friend stayed with his father because he is too ill to move. The house blew apart except for the bathroom they were hiding in.

Fact.

"Pics or it didn't happen" can wait.

Houston has been lucky... the feeder bands have stayed NE and SW of the city.

I guess it will depend on where this thing decides to set up shop, as to how much rain the city will see.

I'd expect way more damage from a Cat 4 hurricane.

The wind field, particularly 100+ mph, wasn't that wide.
The storm surge was not devastating.
The entire area is protected by barrier islands.

I haven't seen any footage from the islands yet. I'm not sure if the area that took a direct hit is even inhabited. Port Aransas and across the bay from Corpus is developed.

Damn, what a way to go. Survive the eyewall of a hurricane near the Gulf and die in a fire.

they did say the fire was overnight... so it may have caught somehow during the worst of the storm

He means the barrier island. Rockport faces a bay behind a barrier island. The barrier island took the storm surge.

Hmm, so by this logic God also killed all those people in Rockport
