The eye wall is the area nearest to the eye, and the most intense part of a hurricane. In that radar image it is that area of deep orange colors just to the left of the eye. It is remarkable because it has very impressive width, as well as how it has wrapped around so much of the eye. A lot of times, eye walls are not that impressive over such a big area. Radar wind velocity estimates of over 140mph are showing up.
