The Bay St Louis bridge gave way too. That's why I couldn't believe Jim was trying to go on the bridge.

The amount of people still in Rockport is mind boggling. I don't think they understand what's about to happen. All the roofs on those houses are gone.

Jeff's plan to escape the storm surge is to drive up on the bridge. Brilliant in its simplicity.

Jeff is not live that's a replay, you can advance the video so you know it's not live.

I don't think they understand what's about to happen.

Everyone says that wind doesn't bother them if the worst they've experienced is a cat 1 or 2 storm and they've never been through a bad hurricane. I GUARANTEE you that when the sustained 100+ mph winds start and that house begins to shudder and groan, the realization will sink in that it isn't a gust and the wind is getting stronger and just... won't... stop. At that point they're going to be wishing their brains had overcome their bravado and they were anywhere else but in that house on that coast because there's nowhere to go and nobody's coming to save them and all they can do is sit there in that house hoping it holds together.

My dad was always a "ride it out" guy when I was growing up, and I've gone through enough hurricanes to know that I've had enough of that "sit in the dark and fricking pray then spend the next week in 95 degree abject misery" bullshite for this lifetime. If there's so much as a line of thunderstorms in the Gulf, I'm already planning where I'm going to be visiting if the need arises.
