Convection has really backed away from the eye. If that contracts, Harvey may still have some room to run before landfall.

that jeff guy says he sees the eye tightening up a bit and wouldnt be surprised if it gets to cat 4 status....i think he was sensationalizing a bit but was saying the radar is picking up speeds of 147 near right out side of the eye

Any live cams of folks in Port Lavaca or Seadrift?

That appears to be ground zero on the current track.

Odds Harvey gets to Cat 4 status?

Hell it only needs to get to 130 mph. That could possibly happen

Can we all be honest. Aren't we all pulling for the strongest hurricane possible? Maybe just a little part of you? None of us want to see anyone hurt or damage but there is something incredibly awesome about seeing such a freak on nature.

That recon pass dropped the pressure officially to 942. Air Force about to make their pass now. There are two planes in Harvey at the moment.

It's so crazy to see the Windy map right now.

35 foot waves with a 10 second period

Not to change the subject but being a police officer and seeing the video of the flooded cars makes me laugh. I can't tell you how many times in the past I saw people parking their cars near the coast to ensure that they flooded.

What are you laughing about?

Because you just said you'd evacuate 425 miles from a Hurricane's landfall.
