This thing is not going near BR, never was.
At worst it was getting outer bands and even now it may not even see that

Much much better.
Life will go on like normal under that Euro scenario. Waiting to see what the ensemble members did. Looks like the trough over the midwest isn't going to erode the wall the two ridges make and not make the early/mid week capture of Harvey.
Lines the Euro up basically with everyone else. Hopefully the 0z run will reproduce this general idea.

you are misconstruing my statement. This storm deserves the major category status with the severity that is coming with it.
To be honest, I laughed a bit. I know what you meant - this thing will be devastating for Texas whether Harvey is a 2 or a 3, but if it's a 3, it will have "major hurricane" status. As a result, the next time a major hurricane threatens the US, they'll say "the last major hurricane to hit the US was Harvey in 2017."
It's kinda like how people in the south clown the NE for Sandy only having 80mph winds, even though Sandy was an incredibly destructive storm.

Looks like when I'm trying to untangle my ear buds.

I always wonder when it came down to it what would be best in terms of preparing your house for the worst impact; do you pick everything up and move it upstairs to keep it from getting flooded? Or do you move it downstairs to protect things from getting damaged if your roof gets torn off by a tornado (i.e. rain damage and objects flying away)? lol. I guess it's really a case-by-case basis/question of whether or not your area is subject to flooding, but I think in some cases when you're likely to be exposed to both severe winds and flooding and have to make a decision, it would be tough.

Galveston cam is showing $2.69/GAL right now, I paid $2.05 in OK at lunch.

Prepare for a flood rather than a tornado

No offense but that is a very "woman-like" thing to say.
I can picture my wife carrying things up and down the stairs trying to make up her mind.
