Well I guess it's time for an update. My father passed two days ago. It wasn't unexpected. He was 90 and in poor health, but it's still hard. That's three major losses in two years. I can't feel sorry for him, he was able to live life on his own terms almost right up to the end, he was tired and he was ready to see my mom again. I sure feel sorry for us, though. He was was such a big part of my life. No matter the problem, he knew what to do, and if he didn't, he would figure it out. He took such good care of my mother during her illness and after she died, he was the anchor. If he held it together, we could too. I sure will miss him.

He was an LSU graduate and football season ticket holder since 1968. He had Tigerdroppings bookmarked. I don't think he was a member and if he was, he never posted, but he was an avid reader. Mostly the Rant, occasionally the OT but I don't think he really got the OT brand of humor.
We had the LSU game on in his room the other night. He was watching but we really didn't know how aware he was until he suddenly said "get him out! get him out!" We thought he was hallucinating until we realized he was talking about the LSU pitcher after giving up another walk.

The last few days he was in and out of consciousness. He was talking to his brother a lot, who died six years ago. Then a few hours before he died, he started waving at someone or something. I asked him who he saw and he tried to tell me, but I couldn't understand what he was saying. I wish I knew. I've read about all those things happening, but seeing it in person was something. I don't know what to think of it, I hope he was really seeing his brother and I hope he was waving at someone coming to take him home. I just don't know. I only know what I saw.

probably … he’s in a good place now

I’m very sorry for you, though. You’ve had it tough.

sorry for your losses Jim, you’re right about them being in a better place but still tough on us, I was holding my moms hand when she died, and later, was holding my sister’s hand when she died, right towards the end they both were having conversations with family members that were deceased, I’m not normally into that voodoo type stuff but I honestly believe they were having those conversations

My condolences. There is no doubt in my mind there is definitely something better going on beyond our current understanding

Sorry about the loss of your father Jim.

I am guessing the last thing you wanted was another kick in the balls after the last one still had you merled up. They say what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. are you joining the Olympic power lifting team?

Dad went in '20 about a month into covid. Mom went in late '23. I still catch myself picking up the phone to call them, send a pic, etc.

I hope you are able to find a little peace and that your path smooths out a little.

Sometimes I feel like the more people we lose, the more the world around us becomes unrecognizable. So that must mean that the afterlife feels like going home.

Prayers to you Jim. Somehow we go on with life, and it gets a little less hard to deal with the sorrow. Peace to you.

Sorry for your loss.
My mom died a few years ago and before passing obviously saw people in the room that I didn't see. She asked Who are all these people? I assume they were angels taking her home. Thats comforting in a way.
