Back in the day, we didn't call the gas station chicken "gas station" chicken.

Popeyes are better than Canes. You get more for the price. A lot of times at Popeyes, the throw in an extra tender for no charge.
Thats just because they can't count.

Krispy Krunchy is the best

Cane’s is reliable in consistency and overall freshness without too many ingredients. That’s where the pros end. The cons are that they immediately lose crispiness once sealed into the styrofoam container, they are bland and many times that damn tendon they leave in the breast makes it chewy in spots. The fries taste like frozen fries with no flavor and also wilt in the styrofoam. Not my favorite place. I’m surprised the hype remains after all these years.

Only ones I've had in New York were from an Italian deli on Long Island and they were fantastic. Much better than Cane's. Didn't need to dunk them in sauce for them to have flavour, although the honey mustard they came with was fantastic too.

Spicy Popeyes tenders …and it’s not even close
I would have agreed with this 100% until I had some tenders froms “Daves Hot Chicken” last week.
Folks, there’s a new sheriff in town….

I give Canes hell, but after going around and trying the Zaxby's and Foosackly's of the world, there is no one better than our own local brand.
Obviously inflation gets everyone, and the price has gone up/fingers have gotten smaller. But it's undeniable that Canes goes the extra mile. They have had ops to squeeze profits out over quality but they have not really wavered.. overall.

Foosackly’s chicken tenders
Better tasting. Best tasting finger in Alabama market and an added bonus of being LSU grad as well.

Pooeyes are absolutely horrible
Unless you like fried batter and chicken that tastes like chalk
I have yet to have a chicken tender as good as Canes. So juicy and perfectly cooked.
My only gripe is they are smaller than ever

That is the worst written article I've read in a while. Reads like it was generated by ChatGPT on a bad day.

*There is something missing from her analyses, something so basic any cook would probably notice it.
Not all the "tenders" photographed were real tenders. As in tenderloins. As in the simple excellent muscle that lies on the rib cage under the much larger breast meat. With one tendon at the end. Each chicken has two.
Some of the photos showed meat that was cut to "tender" shape, BUT cut from the breast. You can tell by the orientation of the 'grain' of the fibers in the so-called tenders. Real tenders have all the fibers parallel. Created tenders will have fibers going in at least two directions and will be larger and the fibers aren't parallel to the sides of their "tenders".
Her complaint about the small pieces were probably the only real tenders she had.

Popeyes serves strips and not tenders so this whole taste test is bunk.
