I want you all to know something. This is a very special day for me. I celebrate MLK day because I believe in what he believed in. I know I'm going to recieve many downvotes, but I dont care.

He wasn't a perfect man and I never expected him to be. But he fought for the rights of all people and I will always respect him for that.

God Bless you and have a wonderful day.

P.S. I'm working today. And I'm okay with that because being responsible is being a good American.

Same to you. People will hate, but I think it's a day we should all be reminded to have respect for one another, no matter someone's race, religion, etc.

Whoever he was, if he's so important, they should name a street after him.

MLK was a good man

The race pimps that coordinated his murder by hiring James Earl Ray are the ones that begun the process of the shaky race relations we have today.

MLK promoted peace and hard work while the race pimps needed to rely on hatred and division.

Dr. King fought for the rights of people to work. Who wouldn't work on this day? Seems not working would be doing a disservice to what Dr. King ultimately died for.

His wife deserves this day more than he did. CSK put up with his betrayals and after he died picked up his cause and protected an image of a man who wronged her for a cause that was bigger than both of them. Where's her day?

It is fashionable on The Right to point out the many flaws in his character and his ruinous flirtation with Communism etc. All that is true when you honestly assess the totality of the man. But is does not negate two important things-He was absolutely correct and he had enormous personal courage.

The "Content of their character" premise is one of the most American principles ever. It has been painful to watch Democrats, Leftists, Progressives et al disavow it in favor of crass and destructive Identity Politics that assign virtue according to external features. That's a betrayal of what MLK so brilliantly and eloquently taught. Let's hope he makes a comeback.

Not from this white guy. Have an upvote!

MLK did things right. He had his faults but he always had good intentions. Fought for ALL people and paid the ultimate price for it. We need more MLK's today.

I’m afraid that ship has sailed. They are ready to do great violence. Which will be met back tenfold.

He was an actual hero for civil rights unlike the race-baiting clowns these days.
