You tax dollars don't pay for very entity that falls under LA Civil Service either
Also interesting that you're apparently A OK with wasting private entities' money by not working. I'd love to hear the explanation of that logic.

Should we expect the attendance in the O-T Lounge be slightly more sparce?

Where you work is a secondary problem. The primary problem is useless people. Where they work doesn’t matter. They are actually more of a problem in the office. They aren’t going to work no matter where they are at, but in the office they are distracting everybody else. The problem is you can’t fire them unless you prove they are a real problem, and proving that is really difficult if they are smart enough to do the bare minimum. And while government might be the obvious place this is rampant, it’s taken over every major office.

I went back to the office August of 2022. Where have you people been?
Energy sector seems like the least likely to put up with this crap from its professional staff.

The amount of incessant bitching from people on social media has been nauseating.
Read a post yesterday from a woman who was complaining how last year when she had to work in office FT for 6 months, her weight ballooned because she couldn’t cook like she wanted to and her house was always a disaster so she had to hire a cleaning lady. Like thanks for illustrating why people are being forced back in the office.

So many citizens have no idea how many private companies are doing the work of state workers. You take a department like DOTD - most construction sites are private company contractors. There may be 1 or 2 DOTD inspectors or engineers onsite, but most are private employees being paid by tax dollars.
A lot of your legal, accounting etc are private contractors.

I don't understand why y'all are so worried about where or how other people make their living.
I'd much rather pay a state worker to work from home and stop paying for office space than force them to the office to pay for both them and the office space.
Seems like that would be more beneficial to the state budget...

Good, maybe some shite will actually get done now instead of paying people with our tax money to work 32 minutes a day

You can cook and clean in an hour
Or you can drive to McDonalds and back
Do people slack off when working from home. In some instances, absolutely. But nothing you said gives me any indication of that

Sir, you’ve brought way too much logic to this rant!

would you take a cut in pay to work from home?
Why the frick would someone do that? Return to the office to me means, I will no longer check and respond to emails after office hours. I will not work on projects or reports at home. frick em.

don't most work in government owned, paid with taxes, buildings? My limited experience with government workers is they are extremely inefficient and will not go above and beyond to get the job done and almost always full of attitude doing as little as possible to get their job done. Stereotypes exist for a reason...do you know any positive stereotypes about gov't workers? I can't imagine the abuse some would get away with no supervision at all.

You think the upkeep and utilities for those buildings are free?

They probably said the same about you and your company.

If you were hired to physically come into an office for lets say an 8-5 job why would you think it is ok to make the same from home while not having to come in? If in the office you aren't required to check emails when you leave, man that is such a chore, why would a worker from home do it?

Because the company is saving money by not having to pay for office space

You aren’t being paid to commute, you’re being paid to complete the work tasks you were hired for. Is that really that difficult to understand?
Using your logic, someone commuting 5 minutes should be compensated differently than someone commuting 45

Because I wasn’t hired to hold a seat down in an office, i was hired to accomplish certain tasks, nearly all of which can efficiently be handled from anywhere with an internet connection. Because I am available, if allowed to work from home, nearly 16 hours a day, now that will be cut by atleast 3 hours per day (due to commute) and really 8 hours a day, because frick em.
Do you think you get paid to take up office space needlessly?

maybe the government should do a study! Can you show me the vacant buildings that exist due to state workers working from home now? Tell me how much the budget has adjusted for the savings that the government has made the past few years while employees were working from home....be a great way for you to win the argument bc surely they have taken this into account the past few years right?

If I'm getting paid less, I will do less work.
