really like “Just Give it Away”

I believe jamey Johnson wrote that one.

George Strait's body of work is spectacular.

Tennessee Whiskey to George right after he wrote it in 1981, and George turned it down. Ended up getting recorded first by David Alan Coe, then George Jones (who got it to #2 in '83) and then Chris Stapleton hit #1 with it in 2015.

DAC is the best version

Jones version is acceptable

Stapleton can frick off

True. He isn't writing but is a great selector of songs that are presented to him.

No "Watermelon Crawls" or "Walking to Jerusalem" on his list.

He's great. Surprised he's only 70. I'd have guessed closer to 80. Don't get me wrong, he looks and sounds amazing for 70...just seems like he's been around forever.

at Jerry World? I may have been at that if so, boring af, in fact the only reason I went is because my daughter(no pics,) worked in suite sales there at the time and we usually got a suite for any event there, free booze and food

Yep that was it. They could have put a black hat and guitar on a statue, played a recording of the music, and it would have been the same show.

Love George, but I tend to put his stuff in two time periods, BLB and ALB: Before Love Bug and After Love Bug. Before Love Bug his stuff is God tier country music. After Love Bug, he's merely really good.

His albums in the 90s and up is where he had to go a little mainstream to keep up but if you dig in past the made for radio hits, he has good traditional country stuff.

I forgot Garth Brooks was liberal. No wonder everybody is shitting on him.

I get that George is better but sheesh. Y'all are nuts.

Stupid bump, but the at 70 King deserves it.

He didn’t even release some of best songs to radio…

Always loved this tune and he never released it outside his CD.
