Now I gotcha too! The initials and screen name were probably enough, but tossing Biggie out just confirmed it for me! Hope all is well!

About to pizz myself I am laughing so hard but this is 100% fact. Guess I blocked that out of my mind till now.

Oh and whoever said the misery as a kid getting drug along to Ira's and Fields doesn't know what suffering is and why did the 2 have to go hand in hand?

Also T&C folks, let the Northside of Monroe steal a little thunder. Who remembers that store by Parkview Church on Forsythe called Ellis's. They sold all kind of stuff plus baby ducks and rabbits at Easter. There was also a gas station right there where you got full service but I don't think those old guys really did anything other than pump gas and half arse clean the windshield but my grandmother thought they were the best mechanics on the planet. And who got Easter shoes at Kelso's? No mention of Monroe could be complete without H Michael Sports. Practically kept that place afloat with all the youth sports we played. And the greatest grocery store ever, Brookshires on North 18th.

Nice. I have cousins that are OPHS Classes of '01 and '04. My wife is Class of '04 also. We all knew the family that owned Action Video. Lol. Right next to "Old Randall's" as they affectionately call it.

I'm sure we know each other then. I saw Randall earlier today. Used to stay at Todd's house all the time swimming and stealing Randalls beer

Your initials BS by chance?

I remember going to their old downtown location where they had upstairs what seemed to me at the time an absolutely huge wooden table piled high with Wilson and Rawlings baseball gloves. I thought it was the most amazing thing ever.

I have not thought about some of this stuff in decades. Been checking in on the thread throughout the day. Keep pulling things from way deep down in my brain. It does make one wonder how many posting here today you must know or surely rubbed shoulders with at some point. I grew up on Gouville Dr off of Loop Rd. St Fred's class of '86/NLU class of '91. Worked at Warehouse No1 restaurant for years. Was a regular at Sal's and Siesta among others. Tnanks for all the contributions!

Front part of Chenault park. Had 2 water slides you went down on on a soft mat.

And heaven help you if you fell off the mat. At that age though, you just went right back up the hill, got in line and then washed off the blood the next time you were in the pool.

Yes, literally the only day you ever wore them.

Well if you remember correctly Brookshires was actually on the other side of the street and didn't move to the Johnny's side till I am guessing late 80's. I bet I spent every birthday from K-4 in that Johnny's btw.

How long til they move everyone to Colorado? Is it still considered inevitable or has something changed behind the scenes?

Same here. Mom would drop me off at 8am with a few balls and about $13. Played all day until she got off work.
