Yea, big Mickey wrastled the bear. He was a beast of a man. I received 2 licks from him in 7th grade for falsifying my mom's signature on my progress reports. My arse still hurts.

Yeah, Sparky is my cousin and I never heard of him wrestling a bear. However in a somewhat related note, before he turned pro as a boxer his dad, who was his trainer, would take him to a prison in Arkansas to box the inmates. I think he was still in high school.
That crazy!! I know Shane could throw some hands. I took a few lessons from Sparkie in JH

Front part of Chenault park. Had 2 water slides you went down on on a soft mat. Also had THE RAMPAGE that you went down on a big heavy arse board that would damn near kill you toting up to top of it.
Critters Creek met it's demise when Joe Delaney (a running back for the Chiefs) drowned trying to save some kids. There were also several other injuries.

Thanks for the memories. The place you are remembering, where Kemal Burnley indeed worked for many years and kept me fashionable, was Kincaid Ltd. Mens Wear. Next to Blockbuster and around the bend from BR31! He passed away bout 5 years ago.
I gotta know some of you, as I darkened the door of many of these places, and worked at both Cucos and Sals.
Oh, and the 8 inches of Brass guy...Kurt Kolb, I believe?

No you are right. Critters Creek was on the left when you go past the guard shack that there is truck beside but nobody is ever in there. You can still see the huge hill that was the water slide.
Oh and you mentioned Shane in ur other thread. He never really came up to the gym while I was there. Mike really didn't either but Mike was 5 years younger than me so maybe they did after I left but Mike did end up boxing in the Air Force. Shane is like the family class clown. Dude is a riot. He is about to get out of the Air Force himself after 20+ years in.

Found this one Cad. These are the 2 twin slides at CC. Not pictured is The Rampage.

there's a fact.

This is a great thread. Thanks for all the pics. West Monroe checking in here. My memory, since I never lived in the Big City of the Twins - getting drug to Ira’s Discount for hours by my Mom for school clothes. No Fields for us - too expensive. Then if I didn’t bitch too much we got to hit up the Piccadilly. Fried cod and green jello for the win.
