She looks great in that first photo. She's over 70 and has the skin of a 19 year old.

Not disagreeing with you. She looks not just older but ... "different".

She now reminds me of Flo from the TV show Alice (not the insurance commercials).

We promised Vietnam independence if they helped us with Japan. Truman reneged. Vietnam was never an enemy.
We screwed up and it's best to just act like it didn't happen.

I knew a few Vietnam vets. Fragile. OF THE ONES I HAVE MET they decry any attempt to downplay the “war.” If they did not they would be admitting that their buddies, family, and friends died in vain. Desert Storm vets, too.

Well, my dad and others who I know who are Vietnam vets all respected Kerry, McCain, and Gore more than Bush, Quayle, and Trump. Now they may have voted for the other guys but they all respected the three who served in a way more than the three who did not. My old man made it a point to vote for Gore and Kerry compared to W over service in Vietnam, but that is a small sample but his vet buddies all respected those who served over those who did national guard, got weak medical exemptions, and exemptions like the ones Romney got (exempted to go on a Mormon mission--his wife said that was his way of serving the country--pure BS) and Dick Cheney got and the one Trump got.

In fact some vets felt Kerry earned the right to criticize the war before Congress because he served.

yep if we don't let the French back in after WWII Vietnam has a good chance of being a democracy within 10 years.

You think the Vietnamese wanted to be friends/allies with the Chinese? Hell frickin no

I mean, Bush did fly Century series fighters, slightly more dangerous than going to Georgetown Law.

Have you lived in a cave your entire life? Bring up Jane Fonda in any group and you’ll see a good portion, if not a majority, express disgust toward her. You do know what she did during the Vietnam War, right? She wasn’t just a war protestor. She committed blatant treason.
probably not as old as some of you. Vietnam was a terrible war, not sure how anyone can defend what we did. How was she a traitor?

She needs to keep her grave spot a secret or get cremated and dumped in the ocean.
I know a lot of ex-military folks who want to shite where she ends up.

Makes her a twat. Not treasonous.

I’m not putting her up for a Presidential Medal of Freedom. Just saying treason, a crime punishable by death, is a bit harsh.

You guys are either too young, naive or politically obtuse..whole male side of my family was in either the Vietnam or Korean wars and every one of them and every one of their military buddies despised and still despises that woman. They certainly didn’t forget her, even now.

The Swift Boat Veterans For Truth. There were popular around the time we were calling fries Freedom fries and pouring out French wine because France said NO to the Iraq War.
Now in hindsight we agree with France.
Yet the hawkish stance remains on Vietnam.

I love this thread. America hating Progs asking rhetorical questions just so they can play stupid, or bring up Trump somehow.

Yep. Most people think it was only the propaganda photos. They are wrong.

Wasn't discredited, wasn't unfair or untrue. His fellow swiftboat captains (all but one) came out against him. Said he was unfit to be the CINC. I talked to one guy who served with him. He said they all hated him and were glad when he took his Purple Hears and went home.
