Do you consider Slidell the Northshore? If so, then hammond is just as much northshore as Slidell.

Yes because Slidell actually geographically sits on the shore that is to the North.
Hammond does not sit sit on or along any shore.

In Chicago, the term means north suburbs on the lake such as Willmette, Kenilworth, Evanston, Glencoe, among others. Some of the wealthiest towns in the country.

I live in mandeville, so Hammond isn't considered the northshore. If I lived in Hammond I would call it the northshore.

By going with that train of thought then technically covington is not the Northshore because it is above Mandeville and is not on a "shore".
Although, ponchatoula does sit on a shore that is to the north, so is that considered northshore?

Covington falls under the Northshore by default.
And when people say "Northshore" it's understood they are referring to Lake Pontchartrain. Not Lake Maurapuas

As others have said Hammond to Slidell is what I consider the Northshore are, and I guess you could say Mandeville, Covington, Madisonville, etc are "Northshore proper".

Most people in Hammond try not to be associated with the metro area of New Orleans. I suppose many will describe Hammond as north shore when describing where the city is but in terms of New Orleans culture. There are a lot of Chalmette transplants there though not as many as in Mandeville.

I've always considered anything east of i55 and south of i12 "the northshore"
Bush, Folsom etc don't have any connection to the lake
