Say what you want, but Ray Nagin pre-Katrina was the best mayor since Chep Morrison. He lost it and just didn’t give a frick.

Nagin probably did worse shite than he went down for, but what he went down for was chickenshit for a politician.

As someone that has worked in local government for most of their career, when the OIG comes a knocking, it's all over. Fat lady done sang.

My former boss was arrested.
Former coworker arrested.

Separate jobs. They both gone to jail...for years.

Nagin went off the rails after Katrina, but he was a pretty positive mayor for New Orleans before that. Very pro business which was great and really needed now.

Randolph said he started raising concerns about FTNO’s finances and operations in May, when the city’s first check for the Learn and Earn program, for $505,310.40, was mailed to the St. Charles Avenue mansion of the president of Cantrell’s inaugural fund. The city said it was a simple clerical error: The inaugural fund was also named “Forward Together New Orleans” and the city’s procurement office had sent the check to the wrong FTNO address.

Yeah.. definitely just a coincidence that the nonprofit has the same name as Teedy’s inaugural fund, and definitely just a clerical error that led to a half million dollar check being cut to the latter.

Its going to be glorious to see all kinds of shenanigans get exposed, mostly because she ruffled the wrong feathers by thinking she’s entitled to travel in luxury on the city’s dime and got people to start digging.

Her downfall will be the same as Biden’s: hubris.

It’s OK to steal from the pot in the eyes of your constituents as long as:

A) Everything else is going well
B) You do so in a contained manner that doesn’t catch too much attention.

Teedy has been waving her corruption in the faces of everyone while continuously upping the stakes and daring them to act. The OIG simply said, as the kids in Da East would say, “bet”.

Nagin at least kept hood rat shite in hood rat places pre-Katrina. As did all previous politicians. This one is too stupid to play the long game of keeping tourist levels high with low crime and booming business. She was more interested in the short term federal grifts.
