....breaking his own world record of 505kg. And he made it look easy.

He now holds official lifts of 501, 505, and 510kg.

Isn't he a full Thor by now or does that require a hammer?

Prolly gets paid every time he breaks the record so no sense in doing his max when he can get paid in 5 kg incriments.

He's lighter now than he was when he lifted 501 during the Covid shutdown, and in better overall health than then. After that lift he dropped probably 150lbs and did some boxing. Then, he chased the powerlifting all time total, but tore is pec benching at a competition. After that, he started training towards Strongman again, slowly building back his strength and weight.

It will never be argued that walking around that heavy is healthy, but he is probably the healthiest out of any of the guys at his level.

He, or anyone breaking established Strongman records, does get a nice check. He lifted the 505 at a German powerlifting meet a few weeks ago mainly as a favor to help boost the show. He still got paid well.

What is different today is that he has gone on to compete in the entire Giants Live show after the WR lift, and I believe he is in the lead going into the final event.

That looked smoother and easier than Ronnie Coleman's legendary squat

There is a pretty much unknown 25 year old Mexican dude named Raul Flores who showed up online out of the blue earlier this year lifting huge numbers. He competed in the deadlift today and pulled 453.5kg, just a hair under 1,000lbs. He successfully lifted 480kg at a competition where the plates were weighed live a couple of weeks ago. He attempted 500kg and got it above his knees.

His invite to this show came late and after he'd been competing at heavy shows recently. If he doesn't get injured he will have a chance to chase Thor in the next couple of years.

Thor has squatted 980lbs in training before. I'm not sure what he's done in a contest. Strongman rarely has max squat as an event. I think he hit the 980 in his powerlifting training.

ETA: I take that back, wiki says his squat PB is 1,014lbs (460kg). That was without a squat suit.
