That's good that he at least has the rescue to keep him company.

I had never had a dog in my entire life until 2 years ago. I had no idea the connection to a dog. Now I know and it's going to be a damn tough day when this happens and I'm going to cry like a baby. I love my dog more than 95% of people now. Sorry K

I hate to hear that about your dog.
I mentioned this earlier in the thread but I'm about to have to do the same thing. Boxer with a degenerative spinal issue. She has lost all use of her back legs. She won't survive the cold weather coming and I'm starting to feel like I'm being selfish for keeping her around. She quit eating earlier this week. I have to (get to) carry her in and out of the house every night so she can poop/pee. She can't even really do that any more since she can't use her legs.
My 4y/o daughter loves that dog. I don't know what I'm going to tell her so if anyone has any advice please chime in. Going to take a lot of pictures of the two of them together this weekend and probably have to do it next week or at least before thanksgiving.

I am so sorry for your loss---beautiful, beautiful dog.
I have had two goldens. Both died of cancer at 9 years old. The average life span of goldens is down to 10, and cancer is rampant in the breed. It is heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking.
