I am pretty sure it has to do with their interpretation of the Bible.
They also probably don’t get much attention and seek it out by having these absurd contrarian ideas, where they get off on arguing about it to other people, as this guy in this thread obviously does with how much and how quickly he has been posting and responding to the topic.

I was camping and hiking with a married couple that are great friends of mine. The husband at some point mentioned that he was pretty sure we faked the moon landing. This guy is very intelligent, educated, successful and one of the most level headed people I know. I couldn't believe that he felt that way. I respectfully disagreed and we only talked about it for maybe 10 minutes because it was obvious we weren't going to agree and both thought the other was an idiot about this particular topic.

That "picture" (as mentioned in another thread) is just a basic conceptual mock up of the Seasonal SUN PATHS over our Flat Realm.
It is NOT intended to be scale. Nor is it intended to be THE working model for ACTUAL sunlight coverage "at any given point of the day".

So the explanation given to answer one question creates a whole other problem that can’t be explained unless you use a different model?
Scale is irrelevant. If Antarctica encircles the earth disk, and the sun supposedly circles above the disk lighting portions of it at a time, it’s physically impossible for all of Antarctica to be lighted at any point.
Explain how that happens.
