This is a pretty well known fact

I’ve lived in the area. The military personnel stationed there are a huge contributor to the area being shitty.

You can't just list the top 5?

Yet another top ranking in a negative poll for Louisiana....

Here's mine, in no particular order:
Ft. Stewart, GA - Hinesville makes the Plaquimine look classy
Ft. Drumm, NY - "Snow shovel PT" is bullshite
Ft. Hood, TX - Dusty, dirty, hot as balls with no shade
Ft. Sill, OK - Hot as balls and too fricking big... 80 fricking sq/mi!!!
Ft. Leavenworth, MO - Too many boots who don't know what the frick is going on in any capacity... ever... anywhere.
Honorable mention:
Ft. Bragg - Too many wanna-be high-speeds in Ed Hardy drinking jaeger bombs and fighting.
eta: All I know about Polk is that it's a million miles from anywhere and it's hot and muggy and the LAST duty station I'd ever want

In reverse order: Bragg, Bliss, Irwin, Drum, Polk.

Just about every Army baw I meet, to a man says Polk or Bragg.

Meh, when I was in the Navy, the worst duty postings were weather stations north of the Arctic Circle. Or Diego Garcia, a speck of an island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, a thousand miles from anywhere. Both way worse than Vernon Parish.

Majority of the former Bragg guys I met when I was at Campbell were total tryhard douche bags

Active Duty personnel are shitty in general.

Spent my entire 4 years at Ft Drum. Wasn't paradise and the cold weather sucked, but it's an hour away from Syracuse where I had many memorable nights.
Also had AIT at Fort Sam which was probably the most fun I've had in my entire life.
Never been to Fort Irwin but it does seem like the worst. Basically in the desert and no cities closeby.

Fayetteville itself is obviously no great shakes but it's not that bad. You are two hours from the beach, an hour from Raleigh/Chapel Hill, two hours from Charlotte, and like 30 minutes from some of the best golf in the world.
Without taking the unit into account, I'd much rather be there than Riley or Hood or somewhere like that.
Also, Leonard Wood doesn't get enough play as a shitty place to be. Neither does Wainwright.

Got to think Ft Hood is the worst now with all those murders.
Polk sucks, Ive been there, luckily only a few weeks, but I never thought I was going to die there.

The mrs is from the area. It’s pretty bad. Best part is Toledo bend and proximity to Texas. Leesville is hell on earth.
