Not really. They’re extremely elitist. I lived in Boise and have family in SLC and PC. The only fun ones are when they’re by themselves on the golf course

Interesting.

I’ve lived in Utah for several years as a non-LDS. I’ve had a fine experience.

Now New Orleans prior, not so great.m

I also don’t need them to be “fun”

Sort of my point. Talk like that they don’t commit violent crimes. A very low standard I must say

There are many misinformed people in this thread if they think you can build 8200 living for that cheap. I'd like to see the qualiy of his trim work. He's already skimping on insulation and HVAC.

All square footage is not created equally. Basement square footage is extremely cheap to finish out. Looks like about 2000 +\- of that 8000 is basement. My bonus room above 3 car garage is approx 800 ft2, I spent an extra 20k to finish it out (about $25/ft2). Also his framing package was 111k. I’m guessing he’s including garage in that total, again cheap ft2.

He’s contracting the whole project out, with most builders at cost plus 20 these days, he saved another 300k on the build. With the exception of vinyl siding, most of his finish grade materials were very nice. Maybe not absolute custom top shelf finishes, but not cookie cutter builder grade either.

I can easily digest his numbers on this build out.

2 acres of land and 8200sf of house and he only spent 35k on landscaping?

Must be a lot of dirt

More than likely most of that was left natural. It’s so arid that nothing will grow without daily watering, so that has to be taken into consideration.

When I saw the land price, I immediately thought this was going to be a 3 million dollar house. Was surprised.

I'm working with an architect right now. He is seeing Custom houses( nothing over the top) going for about $135 under roof. This is the Houma/Thibodaux area.

Generally, "living space" is defined as heated and cooled space, finished.

Garage space, unfinished attic or basement space, isn't generally included in that calculation, though it certainly has value.

His living space is likely 4200'4400, under beam is 8200.

If he sells, the price per sq/ft is not under beam price, it is living space.

He probably doesn’t like that there are voters there that don’t vote for his “team” As absurd as it is to think that.

This is quite a dumb statement lol

Correct. Based on photos that heated and cooled ft2 does not pass the eye test as 8200ft2 heated and cooled.

I would move to Idaho in a heartbeat if my elderly parents didn’t live down here as well as my wife’s entire family.

I want to move to the Boise, Idaho metropolitan area so badly.
