Then they all should be issued citations and a court date set at a municipal court. Let the law sort them out instead of taking it into your own hands. If unpaid, they risk being booted.

Per articles, the guy drove into a barricaded street to get to the protestors.

Regardless of this guy’s motivation (defending himself trying to legally drive down a street, or looking to start shite), I have a feeling this kind of thing is going to get more common. A large portion of the population, possibly a majority, are getting fed the frick to with all of this. There are limits to people’s patience and understanding.

Why would anyone even attempt to drive in a situation like that unless you were looking to cause problems?

Why would anyone throw stuff at a car or try to beat up the driver unless they were looking to cause problems?

Notice that you have civilized expectations of the driver, but you forgive the barbaric behavior of the criminals? THIS is racism!

But why????

Because some people still have lives to attend to and protestors think it's OK to shut down streets and interstates.

The longer the BS goes on, the more of what happened in the OP will become common. Normal working people will have enough and defend themselves. They were already locked up for 2 or 3 months prior to this so they are probably ready to snap and feel they have not much left to lose at this point.

I don't know, maybe to stop him before he got to that crowded intersection where he could have potentially hit and killed many people?

Just spit balling here.

A person has the right to defend themselves while in your car if you feel your life is in danger. Your vehicle is an extension of your home

Doesn’t matter if he broke through a barricade or not. He was assaulted. The assaulter admits to that. The man defended himself then walked to the police precinct and turned himself in.

He may be charged with a misdemeanor for breaking through the barricade but that should be all.

Was this street blocked off? It looked like he sped up to drive through the crowd, then he stopped. Was he just trying to scare everyone? Can't really blame the dude for beating his arse through the window.

I don't think all states extend the castle doctrine to vehicles, though it's true in LA

Watch it again. He was being chased by the guy who ended up getting shot.

And people have the right to try and defuse a situation that could turn deadly with no intervention.

I mean, isn't that one of the arguments for conceal and open carry of firearms?

Pretty sure that crowd felt their life was in danger. He was speeding up as if he was about to drive through the crowd. Do they not have the right to defend themselves?

All BS aside, come on. There are tents on the street. It's in all likelihood closed and he knew what he was doing. I get all the fun it is to defend these types but let's try to be a teeny bit logical.
