You can’t really use SF as a basis for comparison. One story, two story, hip roof, gable roof, shape, corners, etc. There are also variables in gutter size, shape, gauge, finish, etc. All that being said, the cost quoted does not seem reasonable.

If they never ask for ridiculous high cost they never have a chance to get it. Obviously there are people who pay it, or they would never quote it. Also, those people are looking for a home run commission, and fine with the hourly pay they get if they don't get the sale.

When a gutter guard commercial says "free estimate" AND "financing available" you know damn well the cost is outrageously overpriced.

I have a 16’ patio cover. The damn thing drains off right between the slab and grass and the ground has receded. I only want that one 16’ spot with a gutter to redirect that shite into a downspout

Linear trench drain connected to the sewer line. No need for gutters.

I paid $1,900 in April 2024 to have someone put gutters on a 1,850 square foot house. You’re getting ripped off big time.

A majority of the installers got deported. Now, it's Phil and Cletus having to install and prices have gotten interesting.

We got new oversized gutters with the leaf guard stuff. It was nowhere close to what you're getting quoted on.

We used a private dude, no box store.

That's because Lowe's gets their cut, Leaf Filter gets their cut, the Leaf Filter franchise owner gets their cut, the salesman gets their cut, the guys doing the work gets their cut.

Too many ppl getting paid in that scenario. Just like car stealerships.

Go down to your local gutter supply company and ask for a list of installers. Here in BHAM we have Spectra Metals. Cut the middle men out.

Cheaper and easier to go with a gutter.

I am currently pricing out just the leaf filter guards. A local roofing company quoted me $1,700. The next day I received a flyer in the mail from Leaf Filter so had them out for a free estimate too. His price started at like $9,600, then he, one at a time, kept offering me promotional discount after promotional discount when I didn't sign. His latest offer is down to $4800. I heard the same medical grade line as well.

Leaf filter is a huge rip off. They will do the job for $3,000. Just keep telling them no.

The Bluths don’t need no leaf guards or no gutters.
