I know the 2000s MTV villain comes to save the day with a Heidi Montag tshirt. It doesn't get better!

Since Monday, local police have arrested seven of the alleged culprits, including one juvenile. The suspects' ages range from 17 to 31, and all are believed to live around Oakland, according to police, who say they believe the suspects are likely connected to other similar acts of robbery across the San Francisco Bay Area.

"This is not their first time doing something like this," Pistello claimed.

No kidding huh?

Insurance? Don't know much about the retail business do you? When losses by theft reach a certain part of a business' revenues, the stores raise prices. Plus, as noted, the cost of insurance goes up. And ask those store employees if they are mad & why.

An armed security guard could have stopped this
---25 people, 3 guns, crowbars vs 1 rent-a-cop

The video that's up now links to a theft ring hitting Home Depots and the crime family that are arrested for a series of thefts that added up make the prosecution worth while. (As opposed to arresting one employee for what he steels in one day.)
Interesting story, well put together by a competent news staff.

Here's a link and the video is at the top of it now.

They look like cockroaches coming out of a drain hole in the French Quarter when we had to clear ours after some assholes stuffed go cups in them after Mardi Gras.

Boy were these perps prepared and the ones who were caught were in Oakland (surprise, surprise).

He was being sarcastic, as that's the line trotted out by all the morons who try to excuse this behavior.

I’ll refine my original statement to say urban areas, specifically. For the volume of Cali’s consumer market, that can be reached through digitalization of storefronts in most sectors. Then you can set up shop in a state friendlier in terms of taxes, property expenses and wages. Yes, you’ll take a hit on increased shipping expenses, but I would imagine the opportunity cost that point is in favor of the vendor. Or set up shop in Cali, let events like this continue to happen, and enjoy paying increasing premiums on insurance since there seems to be a predisposition to crime in several major areas of the state.

Where would they move? New Orleans?

Nevada or Utah if they want to stay in striking range of California’s markets. Really any other state besides Alaska or Hawaii
