No hoodies or bonnets would cut back on so much crime.

This whole black culture seems to be trending more downward than upward. Maybe it's social media uprising but ever time I look at fb or x feeds them people are fighting and that's just locally.

I posit that culture bloc has always trended that way... with a notable exception when they were required to abide by the dominant culture's social mores.

Once that assimilation expectation was done away with, the "culture" reverted to its natural trajectory.

Look all around the world, across times and cultures, countries and civilizations. It isn't about social media, never was.

I was reading a book about the retaking of the Spanish Peninsula from the Arabs.
Romans had occupied and civilized the country. Under Roman rule, roads were built, commerce flourished and there was lawful living.
Then the Moors moved in and things went to hell. Taxes were raised, raised, and raised again and roads fell apart, there were spots of good living, but things were not going well.
The author said that it took the romans 400 years to establish a multileveld system of government, but they got it done and done well.
The different Moorish ruling groups (there were three) each had maybe 100 years and that was what it took to put the uppermost level of government in place. But the lower levels never got established with any permanence.

Can this 'it takes so many centuries' idea apply to the subculcha of today?

Zero doubt they ran that waitress ragged and then stiffed her.

Or the good people of this country and their elected officials could have listened to Abraham Lincoln in 1854 and again
when he was president in 1864.
He predicted this outcome and offered a solution that would have absolutely solved our future problems but the country didn't listen.

I get your point but the Moors were very sophisticated for their time in comparison to most of the world...not Roman level but impressive. They were a Mediterranean people who were conquered by Arabs. Islam has negatively affected their long term progress but they are distinct from a very big continent.

I dont believe this point at all. I think the black family unit was actually better during segregation. Sure they were treated like crap by the government and many other races but that made them a strong unified group with the dad working and mom taking care of the kids they could afford to have. Places like Harlem and many black neighborhoods were working class and not much crime.

LBJ and welfare is what produced what we are dealing with today. Mothers who have 5 kids with 4 different daddies, Kids running loose with no father figure in their life, No self worth , no value for human life etc..Taxpayers paying for generations of Ghetto thugs that will never contribute anything to society. The proof is on social media daily for all to see. That's what LBJ signed to basically buy democrat votes for decades. That is not on Abe Lincoln.

I agree 100% that our modern problems were caused by LBJ, Welfare and the financial reward given to an already struggling community to continue to reproduce.
My point was based on events 100 years prior.
