Greg Abbott has issued an emergency declaration requiring the below throughout Texas until April 3rd.

quote:

Every person in Texas must avoid social gatherings that have more than 10 people.

People should avoid eating and drinking at bars, restaurants and food courts or visiting gyms. There will be no dining at bars or restaurant dining rooms since they will be closed. Restaurants can still offer take-out options.

People shall not visit nursing homes, retiring centers or long-term care facilities unless they're providing critical care assistance.

All Texas schools must close temporarily. This does not mean that education stops. Superintendents will continue to work with the Texas Education Agency to continue online or additional educational options.

In a declared emergency all Texans are required to carry one side arm and one long gun when in public.

He was allowing local counties and cities to make those calls.

But all of them -- whether liberal or conservative -- were restricting gatherings, limiting restaurants to drive-thru/carryout, etc. So he just made it statewide.

I think this starts tomorrow so I am hoping to get a nice night in at Dave and Busters before the "shutdown."

Texas has less cases than Louisiana.

Outside of a few cities the state isn't as densely populated as other states.

Most of the large counties and cities had already been doing the restrictions.

I'd prefer our governor to be nothing like JBE actually.

God damn Democrats are trying to hurt Trump by making this bigger than it.. Oh wait..

The people who brings politics into everything must have a hard time comprehending this situation. I am actually glad to see this hasn't become an issue that divides our country even more and that the people are being put ahead of party lines.. But I am sure my opinion is wrong, everyone is overreacting and all of these Republicans are "turning soft".
