Nowhere in the first amendment does it state "all these things are null and void in case of a virus".

And where did you receive your juris doctorate?

Why are people even going to church at this time? Why can’t people just read the Bible and pray at home?

It's not like the adults in this situation were very bright to begin with, they still believe in fairy tales

Wait. You need a JD to read the first amendment?

That mayor may think he has been at Sonic after the next election. The town is 76% black, so it depends on what color the ticket recipients are.

I have a business here in Greenville. Lee Gordon is correct about the older church congregation there. I mean the preacher has been there for 45 years or something. I know that a church that has primarily an African American congregation has been doing the same thing but the mayor decided to target the "white" church first. I see nothing wrong with that gathering. Mayor is trying to deflect from the failing infrastructure and poor management that has plagued his term.

Some people spend their entire professional careers mastering the first amendment. But I’m sure a cursory reading by any person will suffice.

If this is OK....

Then this should be as well.

That mayor needs to resign.

$500 citations

Pretty obvious what this is about...

Look for more of this as these struggling little shitholes look for ways to replace that hole in the budget.

This totally blows up the intent of "social distancing."

This is awful, unless you're enamored with the police State.

And yet, sometimes it is just best to go with what it says instead of too much interpretation.

I’m sorry, but if you see this action as good you aren’t a decent human being that believes in freedom. You’re a crusading atheist butthole.

Above everything? These old people were not gathering in a building like the idiots in Florida. They were taking precautions and fully contained in their own personal vehicles. Their church is likely their primary social connection, God forbid they be able to wave at their neighbors from their vehicles and hear and encouraging word from their pastor. I don’t care is this was a Muslim rally or if it was a gathering for homosexual this is a terrible overreach and I will not condone it even if it was for people doing something I don’t necessarily like. But it seems you are cheering on the government sticking it to people you don’t agree with. That’s the way it seems, sorry if I am misjudging you.

From Gov Tate Reeves.

?If you send police after worshippers trying to social distance, you are going to have Mississippians revolt. I’ve asked all pastors not to hold these services—but we ordered churches safe from these outrageous actions. Don’t trample the constitution.?
?Please use sense, everybody.?

God bless that man.

I don't have issues with the parking lot services as long as people are social distancing and spaces are marked 6 feet apart.

It's the idiots like the ones here in Bullitt Co., Kentucky who are having full on regular services without any social distancing practices that deserve to be harassed. Those are the ones that are contributing to spreading the virus.
