Been a few years for me but going to dig one out today. Thinking about some tomatoes and various peppers.

Good call. Nothing better than fresh out the garden cucumbers with some salt and pepper.

My gardener says it’s a great time to plant your fruit trees.

I’ve got a plot that only gets 4-6 hours of direct sun due to tree cover. It’s clay, but I was planning on doing a raised bed.

Any suggestions on what to plant?

IF, you reside in a heavily wooded area....vegetable gardens are an expensive and time consuming waste of effort !
Squirrels, birds and assorted insects/varmints can and WILL defeat all protective barriers and decimate everything !

Just herbs for me. The critters seem to like the vegetables too much. Praying my fruit trees come back from the freeze, but may plant a few more just in case.

I built a sub-irrigated planter box the last couple weekends. Looking forward to see how it does.

I've done jalapeños in the past, but they always come out so damn spicy. Anyone have experience with Mariachi peppers?

I have my 3 raised beds prepped and ready to go. Only thing in the ground so far is my onions.

I’ll be adding cucumbers, squash, watermelon, carrots, corn, and tomatoes in the raised beds.

Also have large buckets of mint, basil, rosemary, and dill.

I can taste the fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and most importantly mojitos already.

Asparagus is producing. Oregano, thyme and parsley made it through the winter. Basil I brought inside is still struggling. Beer Hop Bines (vines) are shooting up.
Planted Tomatoes, cauliflower, kale, chard, spinach, onions, egg plant.
Broccoli I planted a couple of months ago is struggling.

The solution is to build a wire mesh cage around that garden. My blueberries are in giant cages too. frick a bunch of squirrels.

If Jalapenos are too hot, try a couple of plants of Anaheims.

I have found (in Tennessee) that Anaheims are very productive from spring onwards and they aren't all that hot, but rather gentle heat. (Never OH my Gawd, pass the sugar, heat.)
