OU lost 3 games in the regular season that year. OSU's only loss was to Iowa St, otherwise they'd have been undefeated and no way Bama jumps back to #2 in the BCS over an undefeated BCS conf champ

I think you misunderstand the point.

Oklahoma has way more name value recognition, and therefor a better chance to win the "eyeball test" than Oklahoma State.

So, swap the teams' seasons. Make Oklahoma 11-1, with a loss to ISU in overtime, the #2 spot in the computers, and a big win over #6 Oklahoma State in the last game of the season, I sincerely believe that the BCS pollsters would have put the Sooners in New Orleans instead of creating a rematch.

Oh well.

Or on the other hand, what happens if Alexander isn't poison (or doesn't drink himself into an early grave) and establishes an empire to last past his lifetime.

Germany not declaring war on the USA (which they didn't have to. The Japan Germany treaty said you only had to declare war of the other was attacked. Japan was not attacked by the USA ).

Germany not exterminating Jews. To my knowledge , it was Jewish scientists who left Germany to come to the USA to help build the atom bomb. Imagine if Hitler had the a-bomb.

Oklahoma wins over K-state in 2003. It's USC vs. OU in the title game. Saban never wins a natty. Do LSU fans still care as much now? Is Les ranked ahead of Saban because of the natty in 2007 now?

What if Mexico joined Germany (Zimmerman telegraph) in WWII. Attack the USA. Piss us off all to hell and we curb stomp that country's government. Then we impose a government of people who know what the hell their doing - not to mention not corrupted by the cartels - and we have another Japan to our South.

Charles "The Hammer" Martel loses at Tours.

Christianity is likely wiped out in Europe for the most part if this happens. France would have inevitably fallen, and Italy soon afterwards. Considering that Christianity was pretty fragile in Britain in the 7th century, it is possible that with Christianity failing in continental Europe that the heathens prevail in Britain.

It is likely that without Charles Martel, Christianity likely would have been completely wiped out in the proceeding centuries.

The battle of Tours with a different outcome and the battle of Vienna with a different outcome could both have on their own, almost 1000 years apart, meant the end of European Christianity.

Crazy to think about.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs were unnecessary. Would not have happened had FDR or Henry Wallace been president. Truman was undoubtedly the worst president of the 20th century.

Stephen Ambrose agreed with you. Until he researched fr a book he was writing. He changed his mind based on the evidence.

And you?

Something I have never looked up was Mexico's military back then. Was it worth a damn?

Mexico looked at what it would take to wage that war. They would have had to buy all their munitions from the US to do so because they didn't have their own production to do it.
