Replace the headliner for sure. It's pretty inexpensive to get it done. Power clean the rest of the vehicle.

Gonesh #8 Sticks and warming oil. Purfumes of a spring mist.

Tomato paste is used to get rid of skunk smell so you can try putting some on the ceiling (id cover the seats with newspaper first), leave over-night and use rubbing alcohol to clean it up. I know its a hard spell to get rid of, but it can be done. You can also go to a strip club, ask a stripper if she would give you her panties/g-string right after her shift is up.. Leave them in overnight.

I detail as a side job, and I mean full paint correction details not wax jobs. Pull the seats and use a hot water carpet extractor and go over them 2-3 times. Let them sit in the sun for the afternoon to dry. While you have the seats out pull the carpet and hit it really well with a pressure washer. Mist the headliner with fabric cleaner and GENTLY scrub it with a soft brush just to work it in. You'll be amazed at how much shite comes out all the upholstery, and no more smoke smell and best of all this is cheap to do if you have a full day to devote to it.

Depends how deep it is. I bought a truck that smelled terrible. Got it professionally detailed and left vinegar bombs in the truck for days with Windows up. Then left Windows open in garage every night for a month. Smelled like vinegar for a bit but you Can't tell it was ever smoked in.

Get a can of grounded coffee and set in there for a day or two

I don't do it often, but I have been known to enjoy a cigar in my old truck now and again. Drive a few days with the windows down, and its usually gone. My ac doesn't really work anyway.

There is an a/c filter accessible from under the hood or behind/ under glove box area on dash. We bought a used car, same problem but after finding (didn't even know it existed) and cleaning, the nasty smoke smell was gone.

That's a damned good deal. I would jump on it.

1. Buy car for a great deal.
2. Give car to kid
3. Within 30 days kid wrecks car
4. Use KBB value insurance money to buy car that does not smell.
Ya welcome

Just spend a week or two smoking Newports in it. That should help do away with the Marlboro smell.

Don't worry, it will smell like teenage pussy before long

There are machines that run in the vehicle and use a process that takes the smell out.
My brother is in the business (car dealers) and uses this process on ALL used cars.
Bring it to a large dealer and talk to the used car manager, he has someone he uses for dings and smell issues.
*it's some kind of "ozone" machine or something like that.
It works on smoke.

Bring it to a dealership, spend $200, have the interior steam cleaned.

A good pro auto detailer can probably get it mostly out to where it's tolerable. I had a similar experience with a used truck a few years back. The guys i used got it close to smelling like new. I think it cost me about $175, which was worth every penny. I think there are even some detailers that specialize in that sort of thing these days.

hands down it is ozone
either rent a machine or find a service provider...
I imagine 2/ 30-minutes blasts from a 14,000mg machine should do it
I know, I own one...

I'm on the fence with the ozone machine. I bought one. The smell always come back. Ozone stinks too, BTW.
