Hanging out with my grandma and I catch a bad cramp. While I’m agonizing, she busts out with a tablespoon and a bottle of vinegar. I start to laugh cause I’m thinking she’s playing a joke on me, but she’s dead serious.

Once I realize I’m not getting out of it, I suck it up and take a spoonful. Pain is gone. I’m still dubious on whether or not it was the vinegar or it had just run its course, but man am I thankful my 90+ year old grandma is still here to give me nasty tasting medicine that may or may not work.

What home remedies does your grandma recommend?

Used to hate that stuff as a kid, now I swear that stuff is a cure all.

We’d go with a few ounces hot water shot of whiskey, squeeze of lemon and a spoonful of honey. Pretty much knocked any cold like ailment and we’d sleep like a baby.

ETA: tooth paste on bee sting and always had an aloe plant on the porch for burns.

Isn’t this what they used a hundred years ago? I’ve not no idea what it actually is.

My granny has a sure fire cold remedy. Take it, and about a week later, you're cured.

ENTs would go out of business if everyone did this.

Washing your mouth out with hot salt water for ulcers & sore gums
Epsom salt for ingrown toe nails
She would also say she needed to put castor oil on her knee & wrap it in newspaper but I never actually saw her do it

She was also fond of Mercurochrome
That shite burned like the
