Alumnus = single male
Alumna - single female
Pretty sure alumnus can be used for either gender, but alumna can only be used for females.
It’s probably derived from Latin and the colloquial form simply took the male version as most Latin languages have male nouns as inclusive. At least from the small amount I studied.
But just to make it clear, the OP is a dumbass.

My biggest pet peeve with this is when people have grammar mistakes in their subject. I can understand it in a post. We are in a hurry and trying to get our thought out quickly. But when you are starting a thread, double check your grammar before posting.

Isn't that how the Brits say it? I kind of enjoy that pronunciation.

"Literally" is now used to mean the exact opposite of what it actually means.
"We literally drank up the entire city."
"We literally drank up the entire city."

People who use amongst. Among.
I don't know if it falls under grammar:
Using gifted instead of gave or given. Retarded
Using adulting. Even more retarded.

All are both technically sound per the dictionary because "of" can be a verb specifically mentioned to replace "have" and saying those three examples is standard nomenclature.
Bunch of grammar nazis that don't even know what they are nazi'ing

You don't say LSU Tiger, you say LSU Tigers. You are part of the alumni, it's plural.

This, and people who don't know the difference between dominant/dominate and regime/regimen. Those three stick out the most to me on TD.

Not a grammar thing, but... the author pens a letter....
Half the time it's someone typing a story, but in the other instances just say he wrote a letter.
