If required to take it down, they should replace it with a picture of some fatass guy in a wifebeater licking cake off his finger with the words "You like this one better?"

Who determines if something is obscene? If 5,000+ people sign a petition claiming something is obscene, shouldn’t the government look into it?

Somebody driving down i20 gets their feelings hurt by a bill board and instead of moving on with their life they start a petition and want the governor to limit what a private business can do.
Some greasy trucker or filthy biker gang sees a billboard with a woman and her phone number. This billboard was placed by somebody else without the woman's permission. The woman has to change her phone number because of all of the harassment and people recognize her when she goes to stores so she is scared everywhere she goes.
You really don't see a difference? One case is somebody making themselves a victim and the other actually has a victim.

I’m saying the other billboard could be considered illegal if it is determined as obscene. If thousands of people in a community feel its obscene, I think the government has an obligation to look into it.
What if she were topless? Or barely clothed? Where is the line in this scenario? Who determines the line? Society, government, community, popular vote?

I feel like I've seen worse on airport road in Kenner.
Get off the plane in nola and the first billboards you see are for strip clubs, bars and lawyers.

Please realize that every piece of proposed legislation brought before such a body, county police jury, city council, state legislature, Congress...is SOMEONE's "morality." Every last one. What you don't like is government getting involved with stuff YOU don't like.

I think this is a first amendment issue. If the billboard company leasing the board catches enough hell or if hustler does they will remove the bill board. I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with is the government sending an implied threat of violence for them to take the sign down. What happens if they don't take it down? They get fined? If they don't pay the fine? They get arrested and their dog gets shot? If they resist arrest? They could potentially get shot?

You just went full lolbertarian retard. Where does it say a religion has anything to do with this? This isn't a church petition. As for hypocrisy you seem to be triggered by, why do you want the government to tax something that was never meant to be taxed in the first place? In your mind is it wrong for people to sign a petition asking for the governors help, but it is okay for the government to tax institutions that should never be taxed?
