I see several instead are apparently giving the fist like " Black power " symbol instead.
I assume these will be reinstated and given bonuses.

I personally dont care either, but also know we are surrounded by retards
And I agree with this. I think another poster had it right....they are trying to quell some outrage, that may not even exist. If they would just ignore even the few comments they may have had from it on Facebook or whatever, nothing would have came of it. This is one reason why I stay off of social media. At the same time though, I wish those on social media would not pander to shite like this and just ignore. If they would have just ignored any response to this and continued on like nothing happened, nothing would happen. While it was stupid, maybe, nothing illegal was done. This trying to please everyone mentality has now cost them an entire freshly trained crew.
I would not have even apologized for it. That pleasing everyone and apologetic mentality is what's wrong with our society today, and social media makes it worse. Now, where's that frick this, frick that, frick everything gif.

i understand the reaction to it. These folks will be tasked with dealing with inmates, including disciplining them and possibly physically restraining them. This photo becoming public opens up every inmate there to have a civil rights law suit against these corrections officers and the state.
Still, it’s bullshite that light hearted jokes are given so much power

Looks to me like this photograph was meant to be a gift for their instructor and was made as a joke for all the shite they were put through in basic training. Someone got a hold of the photograph who shouldn't have and reported it. No one probably ever would have known about it if not for that one employee who obviously couldn't take a joke.
I realize the implications of the Nazi salute, everyone does, but if anyone thinks this photograph is offensive, they probably still need their assholes wiped by their mommies. This was clearly meant to be a gag gift for their instructor.

The fact that this is even possible...means my previous post is correct and it's been going on for too long. Our society has weakened so much that the wrong people have been put in to positions where this sort of thing can even achieve...

If every person in a position to dismiss any bullshite that came from this, did just that...this shite would stop being anything at all. This should have been dismissed with the quickness and every level above the first line should have backed that decision. Firing the entire squad, or whatever they are? Lol what a fricking joke we have become, and weak, very weak. shite like this should not make it to the top and be made news. What's the point of having supervisors, managers, regional directors, etc if shite like this has to go to the governor to be dealt with.
I wish the old days would come back....when Johnny law could just tell you to get your arse home after you had one too many to drink. We are headed in such a shite arse direction as society....and its because of social media almost entirely. Giving a frick about what anyone else thinks and seeking approval to do anything...frick that. Let people frick up and let the first line superior chew them the frick out/fix it.

Yikes they had a black guy in this picture. Imagine how awkward that must feel.
Pretty sure Hitler hated all the Catholics and Jews in that picture too
We are only 80 years from the Holocaust and already we have made the Nazi salute something most offensive to black people
America, I tip my cap you your wokeness

How do we know it’s a Nazi salute? It could be a Roman salute.

Oh come on. They weren’t supporting Nazis or anything it was obviously a joke. People are too sensitive these days

If they did that same gesture to hate trump or disgrace the American flag then it will be ok b/c “it is their right.”

Right? As in “Hail Caesar.”
If it was a Nazi thing it would have been “Heil”

ETA: do any of you really think this was a NAZI thing? Anyone with half a brain knows it wasn’t.
You’ve never called someone a tongue in cheek Nazi referring to how strict they are? Should you have been fired?

I see problems with this in the near future

In this case, it’d be very appropriate for the snitch to end up with stitches.

This is fricking ridiculous and just another instance where context doesn't seem to matter.
They aren't saluting Nazi ideals...or a Nazi leader...or even fricking "white power" ideals (there's a black guy in the group for God's sake). I suspect what they were doing is a inside reference to their instructor who they may have felt was Hitler-like in his training methods...Not literally Hitler.
Was it short-sighted in this age of high demand for conspicuous outrage? Probably. But to have people lose their jobs and others be suspended is absurd.

They’ll be short of employees now. Suggested ad campaign:
Seig hire!

Obviously...they are Nazis...since onlh Nazis have ever saluted like that.

I cannot imagine ever participating in a nazi salute even as a joke especially not at fricking work. Dumbasses. This is classic stupid games —> stupid prizes situation.
