Tell you what, I’m not a fan of Jeff Landry, but today, as Governor, he said what needed to be said.

Thank you, Governor Landry.

It happens because most worry about the feelings and respek for the perpetrators. When that ends, the BS ends.

I watched his whole presser. He should always speak off the cuff. The rehearsed shite was hard to watch. He nailed it at the end though.

One topic or subject should not and will not sway my vote in one direction.

As someone with a young family in this city, I am a one issue voter. Crime.

I voted for another republican last election. If Landry follows through on this I’ll be first in line to vote for him.

And I almost punched my car stereo after the “don’t stereotype” comment by Sid Edwards. frick that guy.

Sid campaigned on being tough on crime and gets up there and says that stupid shite. Infuriating. frick him.

Exactly. He should’ve had this press conference the day after his inauguration.

His words after a shooting ring hollow.

This is like getting caught cheating on your wife and saying “I will do better going forward”

95 percent of the time was spent praising police and 5 percent discussing the case and plans to prevent future crimes.

To be clear, police and first responders are paid, correct? This is, in fact, their jobs, right?

That's exactly what I said during the press conference. Aren't they getting paid to do that? They were just slapping each other on the back saying good job. I didn't like Sids comment about stereotyping. I was disappointed with the press conference until the governor started speaking. God I hope he follows through with it.

Is that something wrong in the locker room?

Hopefully Kiffin gets that under control, can’t afford anyone getting banned for PED’s, or maybe someone needs to slip some to the baseball team.

That speech was almost like an AI summary of the thread pinned on the OT minus the whole Katrina tangent.
you sure? Landry and Moore both mentioned Orleans Parish

And in case you still think I’m making things up -check out these comments:

He has done nothing that leads me to believe he will actually do anything.

One strongly worded speech doesn’t change much.

What the frick does racism even mean anymore? To address the fact that black people are locusts who take good societies and turn them into violent, poorly maintained, trashy shitholes? I don’t have to worry about Asian or Hispanic or white people shooting up a mall because someone got disrespekted. It’s time to be racist against black people and it should be very socially acceptable until they either get their act together or gtfo

This is actually very well said. We are living in bizarro world. They are violent killers a vast majority of the time and we can’t say a peep or we get labeled racist. It’s time to push back on this.

I've lived in the area 50 years. I encouraged my children to move after their education and they did. We are renting a U haul in the next two weeks and leaving too. Im sick and tired of being afraid to go anywhere. My head is always on a swivel and my neck now hurts. We are leaving friends and a great house we built 30 years ago. Bye Felicia

God fricking damn it, will you not just drop this idiotic crusade you’re on? You admitted you were not here pre Katrina so how do you know what it was like before?

Ok, maybe moontigr thinks it’s only Katrina refugees. I capitulate. I'm stupid. You're smart. I was wrong. You were right. You're the best. I'm the worst. You're very good-looking. I'm not attractive

It hasn’t and you were not in BR prior to even debate. The city damn near doubled in population overnight. That alone changed the city irreparably. Imagine the interstate and surface streets with 40% fewer cars. One can only dream.
