I’m trying to understand what went wrong in your brain for you to think that the country already most affected by COVID is somehow importing it from a country not as affected by it.

“If people were to understand that racism, and all of the social and political and economic inequalities that racism creates, ultimately harms people’s health,” Boyd says, they would see that “protest is a profound public health intervention, because it allows us to finally address and end forms of inequality.”

Positions like Boyd’s, which are widely shared in the medical community, may strike some people as hypocritical. Why, in the middle of a pandemic, after months of telling people to stay indoors to stop the spread of COVID-19, are doctors encouraging thousands of people to gather?

The answer, for many in health care, is simple: Racism is a public-health issue that long predates coronavirus. Without action, they say, it will postdate it, too.

“Risking coronavirus pales in comparison to all the other ways we can die,” says Dr. Dorothy Charles, a family medicine resident at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and an organizer at the racial-justice group White Coats for Black Lives. “Addressing the root causes [of racial inequality] is more imperative at this point than staying at home.”

Dr. Boyd

I'd like to know how you came up with this hypothesis

"Because if it's not contained in the next couple of weeks it will be completely out of control and Texas will have to ratchet back," Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on @NBCDFW just now on dramatic spike of COVID-19.

He should have sent the NG to arrest the protestors when they were illegally protesting/marching. Most cities require permits to march on roads, and it is doubtful that any city/county/or state would approve of people marching on an interstate highway.

Pure, unadulterated bullshite. The border is closed down for almost everyone, and there are no visitors coming. Keep fear mongering with this bullshite.

The Spike now is from the protests. It will subside, thus the next couple of weeks warning.

No, the spike is from reopening, which was always going to happen. These people are so fricking stupid, they can’t follow their own plan. They are thinking only of themselves, we cannot afford another shutdown, how is that not obvious?

And yes the protests made this problem worse, and allowing them while shaming people after the fact for a spike is unfair.

You barely heard a peep about Coronavirus in all that time where crowds were ransacking America, but now all of a sudden, instant segue immediately back to the Coronavirus Fear.

Did it just disappear for roughly 3 weeks, and now it’s back with a vengeance?

Strong statement. Looking forward to seeing your data. Is it on a scatter plot?

That said if we keep isolating and functioning in a sterile environment, our good microbes and good bacteria become less efficient at fighting off the bad ones.

We weren’t designed to live in a sterile environment

So what about previous spikes in Louisiana or New York?

Poor retort, TH03. What does the initial wave of infection in Louisiana and New York 2-3 months ago have to do with what is going on in Mexico now?

If only there were a mainstream media source supporting my stance, particularly when it comes to California, published earlier this month...

Oh, wait. There is. From the New York Times even.

quote:

Or Florida right now?

Why do I have to explain Florida? I only mentioned "three border states" (which were CA, AZ, and TX).

But, since you have to know, another New York Times article, from 8 days ago, pointing out that it's ravaging migrant farm workers.

quote:

The coronavirus is moving through Florida’s agricultural communities just as laborers began to migrate north for the harvest.

So, in summary, you don't know shite.
