This is all so bizarre to me. Congratulations though.

A ten on an O-Pee-Chee card? That’s wild!
OPC cards usually look like they used a butter knife to cut them.

The best athlete the game has seen, he was a starting point guard in college too.
PS: Bo Jackson & Deion Sanders easily refute your premise about the late Tony Gwynn (RIP in peace).

My Andy Van Slyke and Tommy Herr cards are recession/depression proof.

Last sale did 32.9 k in July. Up from 27k in January. Idk where PSA gets some of these values from. Just look at the most recent sales on eBay or the sports card investor app.

Now there’s a name I haven’t heard I a while. Can you imagine if he wasn’t such a dousche bag about the Braves drafting him and passing on Chipper Jones?

Is that true? What could possibly be the justification for the extra charge? That’s blatant theft.

While I agree PSA is a racket, the extra fee is for increased insurance costs to ship it back to you now that the card is worth so much more.

Should it be $1000 dollars more? not likely

The fact that people are willing to pay that much for mass produced cardboard is mind blowing

It's just like art which is just paper and paint.

It all comes down to exclusivity, novelty, rarity, scarcity, and desirability.

If millions of people are Michael Jordan/sports/basketball fans and there is only 1 perfect MJ rookie card someone will pay big bucks to own it.

You can do this with any collectible. Pokemon cards, watches, cars, movie memorabilia... etc

I always liked Gwynn. Seemed like he was just a good ole dude. Damn fine hitter.

In regards to the card, congrats. I’m reluctantly going to send in my Jordan inserts and Shaq rookie cards that I’ve set on for 34 years. It’s a racket but heh I might can cash out

I’ve got boxes full of Cal Ripken, Kirby Puckett, and Griffey Jr cards in my dad’s attic. I doubt they’d grade out real high after 20+ years of 150* heat.

Sell it and dump it all into SKHY, TSLA, or split it 50/50.
