quote:

The initial prize of a free case of Goose Island beer each week for a year would have run afoul of an Illinois law that forbids breweries from giving beer away, Goose Island President Todd Ahsmann said.

quote:

In a bid to show solidarity with the kicker, Chicago’s oldest brewery — which sold in 2011 to Anheuser-Busch, where a majority of its beer is now made — said it would erect a goal to demonstrate the difficult of nailing such a kick.

quote:

Goose Island Beer Co. was out of bounds by offering a free year of beer to anyone who kicks a 43-yard field goal outside the brewery Saturday, so it came up with an arguably better prize: airfare, hotel and entry to any regular season NFL game during the 2019 season

What are the chances they knew it was illegal before the initial offer went up and they knew they’d have to change the reward?

I don't drink hipster craft beer but it's sad that a beer company is siding with the kneel fl

you can see they pandered to the soccer fans (most craft beer drinkers) by making it about kicking

52 cases of beer or an expenses paid trip to any 2019 NFL game.....I'd say they're more than making up for their mistake.

I'm pretty sure the new reward costs them more.

Goose Island is hardly hipster craft beer. They've been around since the 80's ... Way before the craft craze ...

That’s a good point. I was thinking like a 24 pack, not a 6 pack.

Because Illinois fricking sucks. It's going to become a complete shithole now that Dems can get everything they want with super majorities in both bodies of the legislature and the fatass douche the idiots elected Governor.

Uh, so they dont end up in jail. There are plenty of laws that I think are dumb, but I'm not putting my freedom on the line because I dont agree with said laws.

If everyone would decide to invalidate any given law, gubment would be powerless in the face of such numbers. Sigh.

Goose island beer sucks. That’s why InBev, the advertising company in Belgium that sells shitty beer by spending a lot of money on advertising it as American, bought it.

ETA if you want to drink shitty beer at least buy shitty beer from an American company and not any of the bud brands.

Alabama is bad, but I can’t imagine trying to live in Chicago or New York or San Francisco where they try to control every aspect of your life.
