Okay, I know we tend to shite on Louisiana a good bit on the OT, and people have valid reasons for doing so. Our state has problems, natural and other-wise. It can get pretty depressing here. Today, I’m trying to find the good things that make living here bearable. Here are the ones I came up with.

1. The People I’ve always found that a good majority of people in Louisiana are the kind of people who would give you the shirt off their back. Friendly, hard-working, unique, family-oriented, and love to have fun.

2. Cultural Identity We have a distinct culture in Louisiana, especially in South Louisiana that make it stand out from the rest. Good or bad, it’s anything but boring. I’ve been to places where there was no cultural identity, especially in big cities that are full of transplants from other places. Whether it be music, festivals, crawfish boils, Mardi Gras, you name it, we have a lot of originality in our people.

3. The Food Not much needs to be said here, you all know our food is amazing, it speaks for itself.

4. Sports No matter who you root for, we are passionate about sports and competition. This also includes fishing and hunting, which are plentiful in Louisiana.

5. History Our state has a very colorful history, and is one that every history buff would enjoy learning about. The huge gumbo pot of nations and peoples that were part of Louisiana’s history are definitely fascinating and make our state even more unique.

So there you go, there’s my Top 5 Good Things about Louisiana list. Anybody have any others they would like to add? Agree or disagree with my list?

Or just steal yours if they needed one on Bourbon Street, right?

A lot of states are. Until Louisiana starts building college football stadiums for their high schools, I wouldn't say they are at the top haha.

The history is fascinating especially during the Civil War era.

This will be a thread. Half the posters live here and hate it and the other half left and feel the need to always say how much they made the right decision.

If I ever move back, specially BR, I'm going with cost of real estate/cost of living. Cost of living here is getting out of hand. Part of me tells me gtfo South FL.

These top 5 reasons don’t mean frick when you have gun battles all over BR /NO and ghetto thug and drug culture spreading all over like lymph node cancer that is speeding up faster and faster leaving the death and destruction of neighborhoods and business areas in its’ wake from which they will never recover from again.

Solve this or else you can stick your top 5 reasons up your arse.
