Good buddy of mine has been working at a storage unit, helping rent out spots.

I worked for a rental car company in Savannah. We hired a bunch of older guys to take our high mileage cars to the auction in Atlanta and I followed in a van to bring them back. It didn’t seem to be a bad gig.

Play golf. You're retired, take advantage of it.

Have you considered being a substitute teacher, if your bladder can handle it?

I want to get one of those gigs where you fly into El Paso, cross the border into Juárez, get a truck hauling pepper cans, and drive the truck to a destination in the U.S. I hear the pay is great.

Like someone else said, go with interests...Definitely don't get into something that is stressful, demanding, or that you can't just take off whenever you want. I'm not there just yet, but these are things that I think of. With that said, working at a golf course as an attendant, marshall, etc.

As a follow up to my previous post regarding flight attendant seniority with the major airlines, my wife told me the Breeze Airlines does hire part time flight attendants. I checked their website and they do guarantee 37.5 hours per month, but have other requirements. For example, you need to live within 2 hours of a base. Their website lists everything you need to know under the career section, including the pay.

PS. Flying as a standby “non rev” passenger has its challenges since so many flights are really full. There are categories for that, as well, based on active employees, vacation passes, retires, etc. I haven’t used my spouse pass in 30 years, but I haven’t a gaggle of miles since I was a million + mile flyer for work.

Lawn crew at Augusta National. Have a contact that is doing that after retiring from 30+ years in banking.

The benefits and way they are treated are unbelievable.

I can't imagine closing in on retirement and busying myself with figuring out what kind of job I'm going to get after retirement.

I plan to just be a very part time mediator for walking-around money (I’m practicing talking like a retiree) and gifts.

Otherwise it’s fun projects on my property/house/vehicles, some sort of service, music, writing, travel, fishing, lying in hammocks. I want to learn to weld. Rebuild a car. I think even the mediation thing would go by the wayside. But it’s good money for little stress.
