Most everyone I've talked to in Texas has seen roughly a $200 increase

My bill this month was $438. Prior to this I’d barely ever crossed $300. I’m really dreading August and September bills.

We are lucky to have demco at home and while it’s gone up, it’s not near as rapid a rise as entergy.
Demco gets their generation from Cleco who uses Entergy transmission lines. When you pay your bill, you are still paying Entergy. Both Entergy and Cleco generation and load is bought and sold on the same market (MISO). So while you think you are getting some deal by having demco, it’s just perception and not reality. Plenty of demco bills are jumping up.

It’s only going to get worse. Commitments to Green Energy by utilities forced to do so by shareholders, DumBel’s executive order forcing carbon reductions that cannot be met without great expenditures, EPA’s war on O&G and the use of fossil fuels.

If you think a MW of power from intermittently working wind turbines and solar farms that only produce during the day won’t cost an assload more than from a coal or natural gas fired power plant, your head is deep in the sand.

Latest Entergy bill $608! Up from $400 last year for roughly the same usage.

Granted I keep a lot of computer equipment and cooling running, usually expect it to consume about $50-75 a month depending what projects I'm working on in a given month... but this is getting well out of hand.

This is correct. Entergy is being forced by their investors and the government to go to solar and wind. I work in new construction projects for Entergy and most of my workload is solar interconnects and even one wind farm interconnect. I hate it but nobody can do anything about it unless a new administration in the WH is able to slow all this crap down

ETA: MS baws you should see a $80 bill credit on your bill this next bill. The MS PSC won a 300 million dollar settlement against Entergy MS

Theyre are a LOT people in the New Orleans area who are lucky to clear $400-$500 a week on their paychecks. Most of them pay around $1000 a month in rent. Imagine if this was your income and Entergy drops a $400 power bill in your lap for June, and then you hear its gonna get worse the next few months?
They voted for this. What happened to the thousands in stimulus they were given over the last 2 years? They didn't save it?

We're fortunate for it not to be an issue, but $189 electric charge with $123 fuel adjustment plus miscellaneous fees...I sure see how people could be struggling.

Think our bill was $313 for June. Highest its ever been in nearly 2 years.

Hmm, my electric bill from entergy during the summer is usually about $330-340. Now it's $396. That's not too bad considering. Good ol'Entergy!

I reinsulated the attic, caulked windows and redid weather stripping earlier this year.

Its paid dividends. Think about $50-$75 a month based off what the prior owner reported.

What? You actually put in work to address future expenditures? The government didn't help you? Unreal.
