Callaway XR 19* is the best/easiest that I've used in a while, with the 2016 Mizuno JPX-EZ 19* being a very close 2nd. Ping G30 hybrid was also very good. This is all based off of the stock shaft options.
For a dirt cheap option, you can get new Adams Idea Super S hybrids for like $30 right now, and they're very good as well IMO.

Cobra Fly Z hybrid. They have a relatively big footprint, but a shallow face. Confidence inspiring behind the ball because of the head size, but you can easily find the bottom of the club due to the shallow face.
The Fly Z line is awesome. Now that the new King line is out, Fly Z can be had at a bargain.

Titleist T-MB 2 iron
Don't let the blade look fool you. These clubs are really easy to hit.

I don't hit hybrids but the Callaway is a nice club.

Wait, my bad on the title. Carry on.

I like the look of that second one.
Has the same profile as the one I posted. Very nice club and smooth feel as well.

I only posted it because no one else did.

Ping G20 for the last 3 years!

I actually have a gap there, and somewhat intentionally. I figured out that I may need that hybrid club once or twice a round, if that. And when I did it was to make a more "heroic" shot.
My 3i is only about 10-15 yards shorter and I can control it better, and I could always choke down on the 3w and put it towards the front of my stance if needed.
I opted to carry PW, 50*, 54*, 58* instead.

19* SLDR 3 hybrid. Replaces the 5-wood perfectly and much more versatile. I'm a shaft snob, but the OEM shaft actually works fine for me.

So you drop from 3W to 3i? That would be way too big a gap for me. My biggest gap is 5W (235) to 4i (210). I have the same wedge setup as you as well.

Never owned a hybrid or anything but a 3wood.
You probably play with graphite shafts too.

I went 13.5 3w to 3I until Bandit gave me an 18.5 RBZ stage 2

Yep. I've got about a 20-25 yard gap too from my 3i to my 3w when I choke down and move it up in my stance. But if I'm trying to hit that 225-230 yard shot its likely because I'm playing a long par 3, hit a bad tee shot on a par 4, or going for it on a medium distance par 5.
Putting my 3iron a few yards short of the front edge of the green and pitching up to save par or make birdie is more likely than me sticking a 5W or hybrid to 15 feet.
The risk/reward isn't there with that club for me. And as I said, I found myself needing the extra wedge more often than the 5W or hybrid.
I still have a 17.5* hybrid at home that I'll carry if the course demands it. But that's maybe 10% of the rounds I play a year.

I wrestled with this some years ago. I ended up with an off brand hybrid. 20 degree regular flex Pine Meadow Double-Wall hybrid. It has been my go too in the situation you describe as well as in quite a few others. It's been a great rescue club.
I also use their 17 degree hybrid instead of my 3 wood. I am not sure you can get the 17 or 20 degree clubs however. I know they are having a sale on their 4 and 5 hybrids (23 degree/26 degree respectively) for about $40 each.

PS I had to back off on new club purchases for a while under subtle pressure from wife. One was delivered while granddaughters were visiting one summer. My wife says to them, "Oh look girls, The Golf Fairy brought Grandpa a new golf club." In the end her efforts had limited success as both girls now have their own sets of clubs and are learning the game.
