My Border Collie loved to swim (hence the pic of her swimming in the Red River flood in Shreveport) but my Aussie is a terrible swimmer.

Amen. Had one for 13 years, miss him every damn day.

I don't have pics but my chessie carries around 12" block. Second best dog I've ever owned.

Goldens shed like a mofo. Deduct 2 points for massive shedding.

Every Golden I’ve met has been a very, very stupid, hardheaded dog and they can honestly be annoying as hell. They are cute, great with kids, and have the biggest hearts out there, but they’re definitely not an A+

We've kept that limb around for Eli to play with. It started out about 15' long. It's still pretty big but he's done some damage to it.
He is our 5th giant schnauzer and my wife and I both say we saved the best for last. He seems to have every redeeming quality of all the others rolled into one.

GRs aren’t just a dog, they’re a lifestyle.

The rona shutdowns made me furlough them. My butler Thomas is also allergic to the dander.
Hence our standard golden doodle.

I'd adopt/buy any pit before a Chihuahua or Jack Russell. Chihuahuas are literal devils and Jack Russells are the dumbest high energy yappy dogs around.

He's smarter than are you. (OK, admittedly faint praise)
Wonderful disposition, as opposed to you.
Sounds like you should be traded in for a designer dog, except maybe you can't afford it?
Zero shedding, you don't know there's a dog in the house.

Mine has no issue with varmints. He’s so friendly, he just wants to play with them.

Bingo.
Just got mine this summer.
Perfect size. Super smart. Low shedding. Super trainable.
I do love Golden's (never met one I didn't like, but I find them to be hit or miss in intelligence) and German Shepherds (owned one for 12 years), but they take way too much maintenance. Had an Aussie too, that thing could shed.
