Do you even Ed Edwards bro? He killed Black Dahlia and JonBenet too.

There's actually a documentary on this right now called, "It was him the many murders of Ed Edwards." You finna have to put on many tin foil hats though, I would say about tree fiddy at least.

He called one of the women he raped a few years later and said he was going to kill her. What a fricking creep

Wanted to recommend two podcasts that go go into detail on every attack. Case file has a 5 part series and the 2nd season of criminology has 9 episodes so far it’s in the middle of the season.

Rumor is that he was found through Ancestry (or 23&Me). Again, this is just a rumor, but it would explain how they were able to use "cutting edge DNA technology" to trace him. (Notice the Cops have not said anything about a tip leading them to him, they only mention DNA).

Another possibility is a family member of his was also a criminal and his/her DNA was in the FBI database. It would be possible to track him that way as well.

I'm glad this guy is caught and all, but that's some Big Brother shite if I ever heard it.

Did they confirm that he was Mr. Cruel? Hadn't heard that part.

No. California cops called the Victoria police and told them about DeAngelo. The Aussies are not convinced and in fact said they have "ruled him out."

I agree. As I said, it would explain how they were led to him (if in fact they did not receive a tip). And if it's true, it's going to open a can of worms in regard to privacy. Could be a problem for these DNA testing services.

Although, to be fair, I am now reading that his daughter had a felony drug conviction and they tracked him because her DNA was entered into the database. I believe his daughter (in her 30's) and her child was living with him.

All of this is rumor, though. Cops are being tight-lipped on how they zeroed in on him.

It probably is bs that's how it happened, but law enforcement can get records from companies like 23andme if they request

Is this a rumor you made up? I've been watching/reading coverage all evening and haven't heard anything about that. Also, I'm pretty sure 23 and me and Ancestry have privacy policies in place. Otherwise, you know how many murders would be solved by now?
