I know Washington, Jeanerette and Kinder got in trouble for it. Not sure about Golden Meadow
Woodworth and Bunkie are not on the list?
Those were infamous for being predatory speed traps in the past.

Village of Gilbert got my arse for driving 59 mph on the interstate. Think it’s really crazy they can lower the speed limit to 45 on the INTERSTATE. Like it’s so dangerous to be traveling at speeds of 59 mph I have to pay a $300 fine to atone for my sins. frick those little bullshite towns.

So many cities and towns do white like this and are still perplexed why businesses and young people don't want to live there.

The state had cracked down on towns doing this You cant have more than 25% of your city revenue coming from traffic tickets or something like that

Then how are Ferriday and Waterproof still incorporated? Literally all Waterproof is now is a convenience store, a prison, and a speed trap.

They just cheat the system.

Underreportting, flat-out lying, collecting cash, because, you know, Louisiana.

My mom got a speeding ticket there once, decades ago, in the middle of nowhere. She drove 3.5 hours from Baton Rouge to fight it and told the court the cop got a crop dusting plane on his radar. My guess is that they were so amused, they dropped the fine.

And for anyone who thinks she wasted more time and money to dispute the ticket - you are absolutely right. But there was nothing more my mom loved than winning an argument or debate. She got a lot of speeding tickets and never paid for one.

Funny thing is over the last five or so years, I have rarely seen any cops when passing through golden meadow.

I’m still going the speed limit though, JIC.

When are they expecting to finish the bridge? I feel like they made a lot of progress between July 4 and Labor Day weekend.

I think it is 2027.

They might finish it sooner for a change unlike some other bridge projects that have gone well past the initial anticipated completion date.

What will help is now they have two crews working. One on the span heading south and another crew that got mobilized this year to start working north. The southern most section has to build a little marine hump to allow boat traffic for a canal so they may not move as fast until that little section is done.

They did have one issue where some workers were injured or possibly killed on the job.
