I don't eat enough in one sitting to make buffets worthwhile even if the food is fresh (which it isn't).

The people who love golden corral think quantity is better than quality. They are usually obese and so it might be more cost effective for them to pay a flat rate on bulk food.

I would say the food is decent, if you keep it in perspective. I generally hit some place like that once or so every 5 years and just get some fried chicken, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, etc., which is all usually pretty good.

I honestly think the food is passable as far as cheap food goes. what I don't like are the people eating there...just like a bunch of hogs at a damn trough fricking up all of the food, swapping spoons, etc. just a bunch of nasty frickers in general.

Will there a chocolate fountain and cotton candy? If so I am in.

I can't help but imagine some nasty little kid with scabies sticking his hand in the chocolate fountain.

The only time a buffet is good is when it's a place you want to sample a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Like occasionally hitting up the Sunday afternoon Indian buffet so you can try a bunch of new dishes or something.

Golden Corral probably has the cure for cancer growing in there.

That's why I only go with Indian buffets. You get great food and a variety. Though obviously, not all created equal. But I got spoiled in Colorado. A lot of great Indian/Nepalese restaurants, most with lunch buffets for about $10-12.

And Indian restaurants get expensive during dinner. Often double the lunch price

Frickin this.. Back in the day, If you could drag your arse outa bed and get there by 10:15 you could get one plate of breakfast food, and by the time you were done, they had the fresh smoking hot first round of fried chicken on the line.

Four or five pieces of that awsome chicken washed down with a quart of free apple juice from the juice bar, and you were hangover free and ready to face a football Saturday.

I agree with the Indian food buffets being the only ones worth going to. Some of the places out here are amazing for lunch, and get expensive as sit down places for dinner. My dad really loves Golden Corral for some reason, I chalk it up to him being older and liking bland tasteless food. I always argue with him cause I really dislike Golden Corral, and it seems like it's the only place he wants to go. Luckily there really aren't any near me that I know of.

Assuming I deciphered your spelling correctly, where the hell is Golden Corral in Denham Springs?

My brother and I used to go to the Sicily's buffet in BR. We'd use those 2 for 1 coupons that would come in the coupon books they'd hand out at the beginning of the semester. (do they still do that??)

We stopped going because of the other patrons. I simply could not stuff my face with pizza while staring at hairy arse cracks and people covered in beads of sweat after walking 10 steps to refill their plate.

It's on the service road at Juban Crossing (or the next exit, I can't remember) right off I12. He is right though, I have seen a line out the door multiple times and the parking lot is always packed. It is like they are giving away blowjobs at that place.

I love salad bars. I wouldn't think of eating any of the "hot" food at golden corral but I have been more than once for lunch and just did the salad bar. Great items along with the normal stuff. JMO

You mean Millerville, maybe? According to the GC website, the closest Golden Corrals to Denham Springs are at Millerville and in Kenner.

You are correct. It is Millerville and I12. NW corner of the intersection. Only noticed it because of all the cars in the parking lot and people standing outside the building.

When I was a kid living in Mamou (1980's), they had a Golden Corral in Eunice. When I had good grades, my folks would treat us to dinner there. In my small town mind, it was the bomb....now, not so much.

Before Golden Corral, they would take us to Mr. Cook and we would get those flimsy little records.

Yeh, hopefully LP has a stroke of genius and keeps GC away. We have enough trash as it is without building something specifically to attract more.

A few weeks ago, I was at a gas station and a couple drove up beside me and asked "How much furder it be to the Golden Corral? We coming from Ponchatoula."

fricking 30+ mile drive to eat that crap?
