I love salad bars. I wouldn't think of eating any of the "hot" food at golden corral but I have been more than once for lunch and just did the salad bar. Great items along with the normal stuff. JMO

When we've been for breakfast, I always got a big arse salad first with lots of turkey on it.

Then I would get an omelet, has browns, sausage biscuit and some bacon. Whats wrong with that?

We used to go to Golden Corral for breakfast at least once a month. Was awesome on a Sunday morning after LSU games.

But these days if I do a breakfast buffet, it's Picadilly on Essen. Nothing compares.

I can't stop laughing at that. A million upvotes to your dad for passing that along.

I like buffets, and once every 7-8 years I forget how shitty GC is. I'm also usually very high. Even then, I regret it almost immediately.

You must live in a really shitty place. Luckily, I have a neighborhood GC. I have never been there where there is not at least one person going around with a recording box and temperature probe checking the temperature of every food item.

Last time, it was about a year ago. Even just looking around at other people, I seemed like the only one under 300 lbs. There were done straight up buffalo's in there. The kind of fat where you wonder if they're physically capable of having sex.

Again, you must live in a very shitty place and should probably move or maybe you fit right in, who knows?

At my GC it is normally older, I assume retired people, and a lot of veterans wearing their unit's caps - they must get a veteran discount. A lot of people who look like professionals - teachers, bankers, etc.

It really isn't that cheap. When I went for lunch, or was about $12-13 before tip

Yeah, you live in a shitty place that doesn't mind taking advantage of you fat people. My GC is $8.34 at lunch with water and $13 or $14 for dinner. We go there for lunch quite often because even the vegetarians have a huge selection of foods to eat.

You can go to subway and pay close to $8 for a footlong or go to GC and for $8.34 eat hot roast beef, fried or rotisserie chicken, fried fish, shrimp, mashed potatoes, soups, nachos, tacos, greens, mac&chees, yeast rolls, cornbread, etc, etc, etc, awesome salad bar, fruit bar and desert bar.
